I WANT TO HAVE MY PIPE & SMOKE IT onderzoekt op speelse wijze de tabakspijp als een van de laatste masculiene bolwerken en de huidige selfie obsessie. Als vrouwelijke kunstenaar eigen ik me de tabakspijp toe en vind haar opnieuw uit, door haar attributen te absorberen en ontwrichten. Ik zal twee weken in-situ werken in de ArtSpace van Arti et Amicitiae, waar ik ‘selfies met pijp’ zal creëren, die ik print en ‘analoog photoshop’ met olieverf. Bezoekers kunnen ook een selfie met pijp maken, die ik eveneens zal ‘photoshoppen’. Alle selfies worden onthuld tijdens de finissage (datum nog niet bekend). De installatie bevat een pijp-installatie, een performance, een Foto Lab, een onderzoeksarchief, en andere kunstwerken. Het Amsterdam Pipe Museum exposeert tegelijkertijd enkele zelf-portretten.

I WANT TO HAVE MY PIPE & SMOKE IT playfully examines the tobacco pipe as one of the last masculine bastions, and today’s selfie obsession. As a female artist, I will appropriate the pipe and reinvent it, absorbing and subverting its properties. Working in situ for two weeks in ArtSpace at Arti et Amicitae, I will create ‘pipe selfies’, which I will print and ‘analog photoshop’ with oil paint. Visitors are invited to take selfies with a pipe, which I will ‘photoshop’ as well. All selfies will be unveiled at the finissage (t.b.a.). The exhibition includes a pipe installation, a performance, a Foto Lab, a research archive, and other artworks. The Amsterdam Pipe Museum will concurrently exhibit some pipe self-portraits.
