Elke zaterdag en zondag 14.00-16.00 uur, zullen er workshops worden gegeven door de kunstenaars van ‘Pulling Strings, a puppet’s perspective’, een van de tentoonstellingen die op dit moment in Arti te bezoeken is.
Make your own Puppet! Creating Characters with different materials to get into the skin of another creature which we will add to a collective installation.
Every Saturday and Sunday 1400-1600, we host workshops by the artists around the idea of the puppet.
For the young and the old & for free (Nederlands & English)
Entree Arti et Amicitiae €5,- This will give you access to two exhibitions, and the workshops are for free.

20 July Saturday 14:00-16:00 Stop Motion- Still Life with Jikke Lesterhuis
‘Stilleven’ verwijst meestal naar mooi gerangschikte, levenloze objecten, maar in deze workshop komt alles tot leven door stop-motion animatie. Geschikt voor zowel kinderen als volwassenen, breng je twee uur door met het leren transformeren van oude voorwerpen in leuke, bewegende karakters. Na een korte introductie en enkele inspirerende voorbeelden, ga je aan de slag met het creëren van je eigen stop-motion scènes. Aan het einde van de workshop heb je je eigen mini-animatiefilm gemaakt!
‘Still Life’ usually refers to beautifully arranged, inanimate objects, but in this workshop, everything comes to life through stop-motion animation. Suitable for both kids and adults, you’ll spend two hours learning how to transform old items into fun, moving characters. After a brief introduction and some inspiring examples, you’ll dive into creating your own stop-motion scenes. By the end of the workshop, you’ll have made your own mini-animated film!
21 July Sunday 14:00-16:00 Moving Monsters with Isa van Lier
Deze dag zul je samen met Isa bewegende fantasiemonsters maken, die als je dichterbij komt en vrienden met ze wordt eigenlijk heel lief blijken te zijn. We zullen met hout en touw en verf werken om zo kleurrijke marionetachtige wezens te maken.
This day, you will create moving fantasy monsters together with Isa, which, when you get closer and become friends with them, actually turn out to be very sweet. We will work with wood, string, and paint to make colorful puppet-like creatures.

Tijdens de finissage zullen alle aanwezige kunstenaars samen helpen met het maken van kostuums en poppen die mee zullen lopen tijdens de feestelijke parade om 1800. Dit zal een afsluiter zijn van een maand lang samen spelen in Arti, waarbij jong en oud samen zullen komen in een kakofonie van mensen dieren en andere wezens, lopend over de grachten.
During the finissage on the 27th of july, all the artists will be present and help you create costumes and puppets that will be part of the festive parade at 1800. This will mark the end of a month of playing together at Arti, where young and old will come together in a cacophony of humans, animals, and other creatures, walking along the canals of Amsterdam.
